Despite an overcast day, around 1,000 visitors enjoyed a host of attractions yesterday (Sunday) at our Hunton Park Garden Party.
The prestigious De Vere, with its magnificent grounds, played host to the fifth annual fundraiser event in aid of the Peace Hospice. Visitors were welcomed with a selection of music performed by members of the Watford Accordion School, then strolled the grounds of impressive Hunton Park enjoying live music from local band Ain’t Misbehaving and the Borehamwood Brass Band. Entertainment was high on the agenda, and families enjoyed a wide selection of activities including children’s story telling, dancing, children’s ride’s and a spot of Salsa dancing. The event concluded with the spectacular launch of over 500 balloons in the balloon race with an opportunity to win vouchers for the furthest travelling balloon which last year was won by reaching France. Event organiser Gill Crowson said ‘We were delighted to see so many people support the event in aid of the Hospice. Everyone seemed to be having lots of fun and made the most of the tremendous facilities. I would like to thank the De Vere Hunton Park management team for allowing us once again, the use of their superb venue’. |
