A successful 2 year partnership between KPMG and the Peace Hospice officially came to an end this week.
200 Staff came together to mark the end of the partnership by holding hands to form a human “hug” around their building, as a commitment to continue remembering the Hospice.
KPMG has a regional office in Watford and is a leading provider of professional services, which include audit, tax, financial and risk advisory.
During the partnership, KPMG people in Watford have managed to raise £8,600 for the Peace Hospice and over £15,000 for Help the Hospices.
KPMG’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, Michael Kelly said “It has been extremely rewarding working with Help the Hospices and our link hospices during the past two years. Our people nominated Help the Hospices as KPMG’s national charity partner and we have raised more than £1.1million for hospice care in the UK – a truly impressive achievement. In addition to this, our people have been volunteering and supporting the hospices with their skills and time, for example KPMG volunteers have been conducting energy surveys to help hospices cut their energy costs and CO2 emissions and visited the Peace Hospice earlier this year.
I would particularly like to thank all the hospices we have been working with for their support during the relationship for being so creative, enthusiastic and welcoming.”
Speaking about the partnership, the Hospice’s Corporate Development Manager, Maggie Grand said ‘KPMG and the CSR team have been fantastic in their support for us helping with practical request such as bucket collections and painting as well as holding lots of events to raise much needed funds for us. They have embraced the partnership wholeheartedly and it has been wonderful to work with them’.
The Peace Hospice, based in Watford, cares for people living with a terminal illness and their families from across South West Hertfordshire. It provides inpatient care, day care, an outpatient service, a hospice at home service as well as bereavement support.
