With the Starlight Walk only 3 weeks away, many walkers are looking forward to a night to remember under the stars. The 13 mile midnight fundraiser organised by the Peace Hospice, has really caught the imagination of women across the UK of all ages with over 1,100 walkers already signed up.
Gillian Neale, aged 73 from Kings Langley is the oldest walker to register for the Starlight Walk and was this week presented with a Starlight Walk t-shirt by event organisers. Speaking about the challenge Gillian Neale said ‘This is the first time that I’ve carried out the Starlight Walk and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve got a bad knee at the moment, but I’m confident that it will clear up in time. I’m hoping to do 3 miles an hour, therefore completing the walk in around 4 hours. What I’m looking forward to the most is getting to the end. I’m sure it’s going to be a great night whatever happens’!
The walk will be started by former Eastenders star Martin Kemp at midnight on Saturday 14th June. The Starlight Walk's main sponsor is Herts Mercury 96 6.
