Harley riders to raise funds for the Hospice

Friday, 01 February 2008
A group of local motorcycle enthusiasts are heading to the USA on a trip of a lifetime in aid of The Peace Hospice. The group will be flying into California, where they have hired a set of Harley Davidson Bikes and will be aiming to ride in the region of 1,000 miles on their 7 day trip. Event organiser and Herts Mercury 96 6 presenter Tank Montana said ‘We can’t wait to go. It’s difficult enough to get 6 of us together for lunch, never mind to organise a trip across the states on Harley’s. It’s a trip that we are excited to make as some of our party have never ridden on a Harley before. The Peace Hospice does such amazing work and it’s a great way for us to support them’.The Peace Hospice’s Community Fundraising Manager Gill Crowson said ‘It’s fantastic that the group have been prepared to raise money for us. It costs £3.1m a year to provide our services and over 75% of this is supported through charitable donations. All the care that the Hospice provides to its patients is free’.If you would like to get involved in a fundraising event for the Hospice, call the Fundraising Team on 01923 330340 or visit www.peacehospice.org.uk
