'Sent down' for the Hospice |

Local teachers fulfilled their pupils’ dreams last month by being locked in a prison cell - but all in the name of charity!
Philip Gibbs from Divine Saviour JMI, Mike Landsdown from Tanners Wood JMI both in Abbots Langley, Marie Tomaney from Maple Cross JMI and Graham Metcalfe from Little Green Junior School were all taken to their cells at Rickmansworth Police Station.
Community Fundraiser Nicky Maxwell said ‘The schools have raised over £200 so far and the money still continues to be collected by pupils. So far, Divine Saviour pupils have raised the most money although this could still all change over the coming weeks.
I would like to thank the police station and our schools for supporting us in this way’.
The Peace Hospice, based in Watford, cares for people living with a life limiting or terminal illness and supports their families from across South West Hertfordshire. It provides inpatient care, day care, an outpatient service, a hospice at home service as well as bereavement support.
The Hospice needs to raise £3 million of charitable income this year in order to run and develop its services. All the care that the Hospice provides to its patients and their families is free.
The next Hospice fundraiser to take place, is the Santa Dash at Rickmansworth Aquadrome on Sunday 6th December.
