How we can work with your Business
Each business is different and we can tailor how we work together to suit you. There are so many ways in which you can support us and I usually suggest a visit to the hospice so that you can see how your support really will make a difference and discuss how we can work together to mutual advantage. The Peace Hospice has a successful track record of working with high profile local companies and the expertise to make this work for your business. Here are just a few of the ways in which we might work together.
  • Organise an event for us – we can help guide you.
  • Take part in one of our range of events locally – we have all kinds - walks, runs, skydives, fire and glass walks, Santa Dashes, Strictly Come Hospice.
  • Take part in an overseas trek or cycle.
  • Organise a collection at work of donated goods for our shops – we need good quality clothes, bric a brac and also take furniture and electrical items ( but not TV’s).
  • Sponsor an event or part of an event, or literature.
  • Volunteer for us at the hospice.
  • Volunteer to help at a fundraising event or bucket collection.
  • Donate end of line goods, unwanted gifts or office furniture to us.
  • Donate your expertise to us.
  • Give us your products free of charge.
  • Invite us into your office to promote our lottery.
  • Let us use your premise for meetings or events.
  • Give us a straight donation.

Case Studies: How we work with Cardif Pinnacle and Business Telephone Network

Cardif Pinnacle, a large Insurance company in Borehamwood, have supported the Peace Hospice in the past but last April it decided that it would like to choose us as their Charity of the Year. This was very exciting news for us and has led to a fruitful partnership which is still developing. Based near one of our shops it holds regular Dress Down Days on the first Friday of the month and staff pay for the privilege with all donations coming to us. On the same day they also bring in any unwanted clothing, books, bric a brac etc which is then collected and taken to the Borehamwood shop to raise money for us there. We are always in need of good quality items for our shop.

They also decided they wanted to do a big event in the Summer to involve staff and also to work with Boreham Wood Football Club where they are a Sponsor. So they organised a special football match between a team at Cardif Pinnacle who were to play against an Arsenal Celebrity X1 team. The Cardif Pinnacle team members had to raise sponsorship money to take part and funds were also raised through a commemorative programme, raffle and entry tickets. It was a great community event which was attended by hospice supporters Martin & Shirlie Kemp, whose son also played in the Cardif Pinnacle team and a grand total £15,000 has been raised through this one event which is fantastic.

Cardif Pinnacle are also a key member of our recently formed Corporate Development Group offering its expertise and enthusiasm to collective projects in support of The Peace Hospice.

Employees are also getting very involved in our own events with people taking part in our first Strictly Come Hospice and the Firewalk and they also plan to sell our range of Christmas cards. In fact every opportunity to support us has been welcomed. I know staff really want to support us and that some of them have experience our special hospice care through their own families.

Business Telephone Network has entered into a long term agreement with the Peace Hospice to help fund their shortfall in revenue. If you currently support them, then you can help further and it will not cost you a penny – in fact you may end up saving money.
How can we achieve this?
The answer is simple. We would like to become the supplier of telephone services to your company. When we do, we have made a commitment to donate a proportion of all the revenue we receive from you, as a customer, back to the Hospice. We know that the quality of our service is second to none and simply ask that you give us the chance to prove it. We believe we can offer a better level of service and lower prices than those you currently have. All we ask for is the opportunity to show you how. If you currently use BT to supply your call minutes and line rental then we estimate our service will work out at a lower cost for 95% of the time and your savings are likely to be in the range of 25% to 50%. Other vendors will vary as to the exact percentages, but could still be in the range of 10% to 30%.
Our six point Customer Charter:
  • We will always aim to provide you with the highest quality Products
  • We will provide these at market leading prices
  • We will automatically adjust your tariffs to the lowest possible within our then current pricing structure
  • Where possible, we will only ever ask you to commit to a 30 day contract
  • If we say we will do something, then we will do it
  • If for any reason you are unhappy with any aspect of our service then youwill be able to get hold of one of our Directors to ask for a remedy.
If you would like to talk to someone about how your company could work with the Peace Hospice, please call Rachel Fowler on 01923 335347 or email her.

Collecting boxes are a great way to raise money and awareness of The Peace Hospice and we are always looking for new sites to place these. Could your pub, club, school, garage, sports centre, shop or business have a collection box on your counter or reception desk for your customers to put their change into?

We can provide you with the box and change it for a new one when it’s full.
We’ll also send you a certificate that you can display helping to keep your customers informed of how much they have raised.

We are also looking to recruit volunteers to help us manage the collecting box scheme.
If you would like a box or have a few hours to spare contact Gill Crowson on 01923 335370 or gcrowson@peacehospice.org.uk

Corporate Development Group - Testimonials

Being part of the Corporate Development Group at the Peace Hospice has been such a rewarding experience. I have come to understand the fantastic work done by everyone at the Hospice and the support it gives to patients and their families. There is no better feeling than knowing that the Groups fundraising activities directly benefit the Hospice and help to ensure that everyone involved is able to continue to provide such an invaluable service to the local community. Long may this continue!
The Corporate Development Group is an eclectic mix of local business people. Being part of the group is extremely rewarding – knowing you are doing something good for your local community by helping to come up with great ideas to generate income for such an amazing organisation is not only humbling but also both challenging and enjoyable. But this is ‘nothing’ compared to the dedication and care of the staff at the Hospice

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking about the kind of events that you could arrange on our behalf. If you would like to discuss any of these ideas further, then we would love to hear from you.
We need to raise £4 million in charitable income alone this year so that we can continue to provide a high quality of care to our patients and their families. Between us all, we can make it!
